Rules and regulations

Crimes with rougher punishments.

Murder is one of the hardest sentenced crimes in our country. Rape is punished hard as well, and pedophilia has the second strictest punishment of all. Shop-lifting among youngsters often doesn’t lead them to prison even if they’re above 14-15 years old (After the 1th Marts you can get in prison if you are 15 years old)
So smaller crimes like shoplifting is normally something you confront the parents or guardians of the child with, sometimes they will charge them though.
How we regard figures of power and authority:

Schoolteacher Not have the same authority as many other schools. We can joke and have fun with them, without they punish us. We now ours teachers very well. Many teachers want the pupils take part of the teaching, that means that we decides what we want to do in the lesson.

Policeman are the consequences of bad actions from a citizen.
They have power in a matter of speaking, if they figure a situation is dangerous, they are allowed to use force if there is a necessity.

The government has a lot of power, they make ours rules. It hard to be a politics, they are often in the media. So to be a politics isn't one of the easy jobs.

How does the average Dane regard authority.
It spoken that we take authority too lightly, because ordinary authority can easy be avoided right?
There is of course a limit of what you are able to avoid, but you can in theory, if we use the school as an example, skip classes, and homework for the most part without getting caught, as long as you don’t
lose control of what you’re doing!

So is that okay? Maybe. But the most obvious answer is no.
Our conclusion: We agree on the most part, but the definition of power is to be able of doing something without doing it, so maybe the lack of discipline
is what makes the country running smoothly.

The separation of powers
“The Danish Constitutional Act divides power into three independent branches to prevent
abuse of power.”

1. The Parliament:
The Danish parliament exercises legislative power, which means that all laws wished to be applied in Denmark must pass through these politicians first and they usually take a vote in the parliament about whether they like or dislike the proposed law.

2. The Courts:
The court exercises judicial power in Denmark, everyone has the right to get a fair trial.

3. The Government
The government exercises executive power and governs the country with accordance with the laws inacted by the parliament. The Government is lead by the Prime minister and 20 ministers.

Special laws in our country that is uncommon in others based on our culture and/or geography

First off, we don’t execute, there are no death penalty the toughest punishment of all time in Denmark is “lifetime” which normally has a maximum of 16 years in prison.

If we for some reason throw trash on the ground (We’re not encouraging it!) then you will not receive a fine or any kind of small punishment, people simply believe that we can take care of having a beautiful and clean city on
our own.

That’s the end of it! Cheers!
