The media

In Denmark we are using are lot of media. Our computer(Internet), our TV and commercials and our phone. And a lot of music. We use news on the Internet instead of reading newspapers. Absolutely more than before.

Famous danish people
One of the most famous people in our country is H.C. Andersen, he was a famous writer who made poems and famous fairy tales like “the little mermaid”. He was born the 2nd of April 1805 and died in 1875. He was so famous that we still celebrate his birthday. He also has his own museum in his childhood home in Odense (about 30. minutes from Nyborg).

Another known person is Tina Dickow, she is a famous female singer from Denmark. In the beginning she was in a band called “Zero Seven”. Later she became an independent singer. One of her most known songs, is “In a room with a view” http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tGSstbhofhQ.

Medina is also a famous female singer from Denmark. She has among other things had gigantic hit singles called: “you and I” and “Addiction”: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3tiexHjBt3w and she is 29 years old.

Dirch Passer became a very successful actor and comedian, in the middle of the nineties and continued almost until his last days. He had a tough life, where he drank and worked too much and it became his death in 1980, but he wasn’t forgotten. He had a wife and two daughters. Last year a movie about his life and carreer was produced, it became a success.

What we like to watch
Popular shows in our country on TV is reality shows for example Paradise Hotel: Paradise is about young people spending two months on a luxury hotel in Mexico. it´s a game were everything can happen. every Thursday a contestant have to leave the hotel and go home to Denmark. the danish population dosen´t only see the program because of the exiting game. a big part of the game is namely love, sex, alcohol and party. We also watch a lot of sports. In February we witnessed Denmark become the European Champions in handball and it made us become even stronger as a nation.

Movies and Music
In Denmark, we watch a lot of different genres. For example Thriller, comedy, action, romantic movies and science fiction. American and danish movies. the Danish people also have different tastes when it comes to music someone likes listen to Pop, rock and so ever. we listen to danish and american artists the most of the time.
The press
The press give us danish people somethings to read and follow. But the magazines does also get doing a lot of rumours. And the press can be really pushily, so there is a few rules for the press.

Our press don´t have that many bounds, but there are rules, but not all follow them.
- The press must not hurt the private life.
- Suicide and suicide attempt must not be mentions. Absolutely not objectionable.
- The press must give consideration to the famous people.
- And some other rules.

The TV is an important thing for the danish people. There are some rules for what they are allowed to show on it. for example: they can’t show cars license plates, sex without sheets, criminals faces and eyes.

Media on your phone
young people spent a lot of their time on facebook updating their profile and chatting with their friends, family and colleagues. in these days you don´t even have to start a computer you just have to press a button on your Smartphone, that’s how easy it is! It´s a easy way to get information´s but it take a lot of your time. Instead of being social you unnecessarily grab your phone. 70% of the people between 16-19 have access to the internet on their phone.

Papers and news
In Denmark almost everybody gets their news from the internet, the tv or the radio. people don´t read newspapers as they did in the nineties. In the nineties almost everybody read newspapers but in 2001 under 70% of the population did. A huge conversation topic is gossip and you can buy countless of gossip magazines for example “Se og hør”, “Billed bladet”, “Kig ind” and many many more. 60% of the people between 16-19 buy weekly magazines.

Conclution
The media have a big importance in our weekday. Our clothes, hair and personality depend on what the famous appear as. We all have a person, that we look up to, and if they change their look, then we have a tendency to do the same.

Previously when we meet each other on the street, we talk about the newspaper, and about what take place in the big world. Now when we meet each other on the street, we often talk about the famous people. Not at all the famous people are acknowledged, but just known from the tvs reality show, for example Sidney Lee, he is only known because he has a special style and personality.

The press have few border, so they can do much more, than they could do before. The danish population, see Tv, films and a hear a lot of music, like other countries. The Media, is under a big development, and it will continue in many years forward.
